Poetry

Although I am normally not so forthcoming with my creative strides, I thought I might take my poems solely out of the capable hands of Poetry.com, and publish them on my web site, too. I do not claim to write great poetry. I just write what comes to mind. The lesser stuff I have written won't be published here, but the things I deem worthy will be.

A Random Bit of Poetry

An English Student's Nemesis
2/14/2008 3:59:17 PM — I love this one. I think it is rather funny. I wrote it at about 3AM before one of my English papers were due in class. This little poem actually got cited in one of Poetry.com's collections.
The Symphony
2/14/2008 3:57:25 PM — This really is a great piece, I think, because of the word painting. The rhyming scheme is kinda awkward, but I liked it. You'll see that I incorporate a lot of words that are sounds, alluding to the concept of a "symphony." It remains unfinished.
Precious Memory Burrow Deep
2/13/2008 5:22:16 PM — I wrote this one as a memoriam to the way someone once made me feel. She really hurt me, but, lifted me up, too. This one captures the spirit of "bittersweet."
Without Within
2/13/2008 5:20:26 PM — This is actually something I wrote about Nicodemas, the main character of my novel. It was actually copied by a fella somewhere on the internet as his forum signature. I was very flattered.
Solemn Vows
2/13/2008 5:17:47 PM — I really love this set of vows I wrote up once. I think it really says something about love and how I used to be.
Gothic Regale
2/13/2008 5:16:39 PM — I know that I pick on Emo kids and angsty kids, but, truth is, I used to be one. That is where I got this poem. It isn't great, but, it's not bad, either.
D Minus
2/13/2008 4:01:25 PM — Okay, I wrote this one while I was trolling a teen help forum where a bunch of whining children posted their angst-ridden poetry. I thought I'd give them a little pep talk. The last verse is a play off of one of the aforementioned angster's poems... it just came out of nowhere, so I thought I'd include it in mine as a joke.
Angel Of My Eye
2/13/2008 3:56:39 PM — This one I wrote for Melinda. She is quite the angel, and she will be my friend even after all the diamonds of the night sky burn out.
Armour Me O God
2/12/2008 4:00:35 PM — I was in a very pious mood this day, I guess.
